Meeting minutes May 12, 2025
7:00 pm – The board of directors met before the general membership meeting. These are the items that were discussed:
- Discussed an option of a divider for the kitchen to hall windows.
- Discussed making sure the club was ready for the upcoming hall rental.
7:30 pm – Meeting was called to order.
Introduction of Officers: Mike Cumberland- President, Chris Smith- Treasurer, Brian Jesteadt- Membership, James Hacke- Secretary/Trap, Joe Urish- Pistol, Mike Ripley- Black Powder(absent), Al Vogan- rifle, Tom Fischer- Appointed by the membership.
Treasurer’s Report: Chris read the report.
Bills and Communications: Chris paid $5,798 for the club’s yearly insurance.
Pop: No report.
Rental Committee Report: May 12th through May 15th Butler County Adult Probation, May16th and 17th hall rented, pistol range rented on May 26th from noon – 4 pm.
Pistol Team: Joe turned in $58. Joe reported that the Moraine pistol team had won their indoor league. The outdoor league will resume at the end of May on Thursday nights from 2 pm till dark.
Trap Team: Trap shooting practices will resume on May 13th and 27th from 5 pm till dark. Practices will continue to rotate every other Tuesday night.
Black Powder / Meat Shoots: No report. There is a meat shoot on the 2nd Sunday of every month. The shoot starts at 11 am and is open to members and the public.
Junior Rifle Team: Looking for anyone interested in leading junior shooting classes. Contact Mike Ripley if interested.
Archery:
Fun Indoor Shoot: No report. The fun shoots happen on Mondays. Doors open at 9 am, with the first shoot starting around 10 am.
Rifle: Al turned in $200. Al said there was a winning shot on the cold bore challenge. The winner received $56 but decided to donate his winnings back to the club. Al used the money to make a few shooting bench improvements. The current cold bore challenge is up to $34 and continues to grow. The next 100-yard steel egg shoot will be held on June 8th. The next 200-yard steel gong match will be held on May 24th and June 29th. Shooting begins around 9 am and continues till about 3 pm.
Membership: Brian took in $55, maintenance fund $5, general fund $50. Key cards were $10. The total membership is 579, of which 440 are senior/life charter members. There are 30 new members for 2025.
Old Business: Jim volunteered to get some prices on a couple flagpole options.
New Business: Al cleaned out underneath the railroad tie bridge heading out to the 100-yard rifle backstop.
Good of the Association: Heather Stewart was mentioned once again in the local newspaper for setting another state archery record. The club is proud to recognize Heather for her achievements by hanging the article inside the club for all to read.
