Meeting Minutes October 13, 2025
7:00 pm – The board of directors met before the general membership meeting. These are the items that were discussed:
- Voted on letting the Pennsylvania Beekeeper Association use the hall to host their monthly meetings. They will be once a month for ten months.
- 20 signs were ordered to be hung around the perimeter of the property behind the ranges.
7:34 pm – The meeting was called to order.
Introduction of Officers: Mike Cumberland- President, Chris Smith- Treasurer, Brian Jesteadt- Membership, James Hacke- Secretary/Trap, Joe Urish- Pistol, Mike Ripley- Black Powder, Al Vogan- Rifle, Tom Fischer- Appointed by the membership.
Treasurer’s Report: Chris read the report.
Bills and Communications: Chris paid out $804.36 for a new lime spreader that was purchased for the club.
Pop: Nothing to report.
Rental Committee Report: Oct. 19th and Nov. 2nd, the hall is rented.
Pistol Team: The winter league will begin on Sept. 25th and shoot on Thursday nights from 2 pm till approximately 8 or 9 pm. They usually practice on Wednesday afternoon if anyone is interested in joining them. Joe said the team painted all the exterior doors of the hall. They also cleared some overgrowth around the outdoor pistol range.
Trap Team: The next trap shooting practices will be on Oct. 14th and 28th. from 5 pm till dark. The winter trap league will begin on Nov. 2nd from noon till about 4 pm. Anyone is welcome to still shoot practice during the league.
Black Powder / Meat Shoots: Mike reported 11 shooters for the trail shoot. He brought in $110, expenses were $60, he kept $15, and turned in $35 to the club. The monthly trail walk shoot is back! Any flintlock or percussion muzzle loaders with open sights may be shot for scores. The trail shoot will continue on the 2nd Sunday of each month and begins at 11 am.
Junior Rifle Team: Looking for anyone interested in leading junior shooting classes. Contact Mike Ripley if interested.
Archery:
Fun Indoor Shoot: The indoor .22 rifle fun shoot is on Monday mornings around 9 am. Barry turned in $220.
Rifle: Al took in $221, expenses were $16, and he turned in $205. On November 15th, there will be a low-light 100-yard steel egg shoot starting around 5:30 pm. Sight-in time will begin earlier. If the weather doesn’t permit to shooting on the 15th, it will be moved to the following Saturday. Oct. 26th is the next 200-yard stee gong match from 9 am till 3 pm.
Membership: Brian took in $355, maintenance fund $40, and general fund $315. Key cards were $10. The total membership is 596, of which 453 are senior/life charter members. There are 49 new members for 2025. It is time to renew your membership for the year 2026. February will be the last month to renew your membership.
Old Business: The 100-yard rifle backstop has been extended for rimfire use only. If you are using anything other than a .22 caliber gun, please continue to use the original backstop with the black belting.
