Meeting Minutes March 10, 2025
7:00 pm – The board of directors met before the general membership meeting. These are the items that were discussed:
· Reviewed how the remodel has been going.
7:33 pm – Meeting was called to order.
Introduction of Officers: Mike Cumberland- President, Chris Smith- Treasurer, Brian Jesteadt- Membership(absent), James Hacke- Secretary/Trap, Joe Urish- Pistol, Mike Ripley- Black Powder, Al Vogan- rifle, Tom Fischer- Appointed by the membership.
Treasurer’s Report: Chris read the report.
Bills and Communications: Chris announced that the spring property taxes are due. It was voted to pay the early price of $898.38. He will also be paying $5,800 for the club’s insurance.
Pop: Nothing to report.
Rental Committee Report: April 5th and 6th Constables. April 8th and 9th SRU police. April 12th hall rented. April 14th SRU police. May 12th through May 15th Butler County Adult Probation, May16th and 17th hall rented
Pistol Team: Joe took in $111, expenses were $0, kept $32, and turned in $79. Joe said the indoor league will end on April 3rd. The outdoor league will resume on Thursday nights from 2 pm till dark.
Trap Team: Trap shoots are on a break and will resume in the late spring.
Black Powder / Meat Shoots: Mike took in $130, expenses were $100, kept $9, and turned in $21. There is a meat shoot on the 2nd Sunday of every month. The shoot starts at 11 am and is open to members and the public.
Junior Rifle Team: Looking for anyone interested in leading junior shooting classes. Contact Mike Ripley if interested.
Archery:
Fun Indoor Shoot: Barry turned in $200. The fun shoots happen on Mondays. Doors open at 9 am, with the first shoot starting around 10 am.
Rifle: Al brought in $110, expenses were $0, and he turned in $110. Al reported that the next 100-yard steel egg shoot will be on March 16th and April 12th. The next 200-yard steel gong matches will be on March 30th and April 27th.
Membership: Chris took in $575, maintenance fund $50, general fund $525. Key cards were $0. The total membership is 526, of which 484 are senior/life charter members. There are 16 new members for 2025.
Old Business: All the cameras are reinstalled and operational again. Jim reported he had to replace a wire to the hallway camera due to being chewed by a mouse.
New Business: Tim Watson, a representative of the Beaver County Sportsman’s Conservation League, visited tonight’s meeting. He extended an invitation to the club’s president and a guest to a dinner that will be hosted to discuss what the league is about. Jim asked if anyone was having issues with the rear door not letting them in when scanning their cards. A few members said that had noticed the issue. Jim will look into what might be the problem.
