Meeting Minutes September 9, 2024
7:00 pm – The board of directors met before the general membership meeting. These are the items that were discussed:
· Reviewed the projected hall material list for the upcoming remodel.
7:33 pm – Meeting was called to order.
Introduction of Officers: Mike Cumberland- President, Chris Smith- Treasurer(absent), Brian Jesteadt- Membership, James Hacke- Secretary/Trap, Joe Urish- Pistol, Mike Ripley- Black Powder, Tom Fischer- Appointed by the membership.
Treasurer’s Report: Steve read the report.
Bills and Communications: The fall taxes for $2,450.59 were paid. The amount of $1,520.94 was paid to fill the heating oil tank. $425 was paid to have the septic tank pumped.
Pop: Steve turned in $19.
Rental Committee Report: August 24th. September 7th and 8th constables, September 14th main hall all day Butler Abate Chapter, September 28th main hall from 5-7 pm. October 8th SRU all day, October 12th 5-7 pm.
Pistol Team: Joe reported the summer league has ended, and the winter league will start on September 26th. Thursday nights from 2 pm till dark.
Trap Team: Jim reported for June through August. $364 was brought in, expenses were $276.25, kept $25.75, and turned in $62. September 10th is the next night to shoot and we will continue every other Tuesday. Shooting starts around 5 pm. It costs $4 for a round of 25 clay targets. The winter league will begin on November 3rd.
Black Powder / Meat Shoots: Mike brought in $300, expenses were $140, expenses were $100, kept $12, and turned in $28. Mike said there was a nice turnout for the Rendezvous. The event collected $1,789, expenses were $500, kept nothing, and turned in $1,289. Mike reported the loss of a good friend Calvin McClymonds. A $100 check was donated by Elizabeth Mathews to be used towards a memorial for Calvin.
Junior Rifle Team: Looking for anyone interested in leading junior shooting classes. Contact Mike Ripley if interested.
Archery:
Fun Indoor Shoot: Barry reported that the fun shoots will begin on September 16th. The fun shoots happen on Mondays. Doors open at 9 am with the first shoot starting around 10 am.
Rifle: Al took in $124, expenses $13, and turned in $111. Al will host a steel egg shoot at the 100-yard rifle range for .22 caliber rifles on August 25th and September 29th. Shooting will begin around 10 am. Al is hosting a bench paper match shoot on August 14th and September 11th from 1 pm to dusk. The next 200-yard gong shoot will be on October 27th.
Membership: Brian took in $55, maintenance fund $5, general fund $50. Key cards were $10. The total membership is 616 of which 468 are senior/life charter members. There are 60 new members for the 2024 year.
Old Business: The zero-turn mower had a new starter installed. New head gaskets were installed to correct an exhaust leak. The inside hall demolition is set to begin on October 26TH.
New Business: The pump in the 2nd septic tank was not working correctly. The issue has been temporarily corrected and a permanent fix will be later. Steve reported the heating oil tank was filled and is ready for the upcoming heating season.
