Meeting Minutes March 11, 2024
7:00 pm – The board of directors met before the general membership meeting. These are the items that were discussed:
· Steve submitted another proposal for the hall renovations.
7:35 pm – Meeting was called to order.
Introduction of Officers: Mike Cumberland- President, Chris Smith- Treasurer(absent), Brian Jesteadt- Membership, James Hacke- Secretary, Joe Urish- Pistol, Mike Ripley- Black Powder, Tom Horstman- Trap(absent), Tom Fischer- Appointed by the membership.
Treasurer’s Report: Steve filled in for Chris and read the report.
Bills and Communications: The amount of $5,885 was paid to renew our yearly insurance policy. Spring taxes are due in the amount of $898.37.
Pop: No report.
Rental Committee Report: March 23 is the black powder Frolic. On March 24 and Aril 7th, there is a steel egg shoot at the rifle range for .22 caliber rifles. April 13th the hall is rented.
Pistol Team: Joe took in $323, expenses $194, kept $38, and turned in $91. The pistol winter league ends at the end of March.
Trap Team: The winter league brought in $2424, expenses $2,092, kept $99, and turned in $233. Jim said the trap banquet will be on March 16th from noon till about 6 pm located at the trap range. Practice nights will resume on Tuesdays sometime in the late spring.
Black Powder / Meat Shoots: Mike took in $120, expenses $60, kept $18, and turned in $42. This year’s Frolic will be on March 23. The event will be from 9 am till sometime around 4 pm. This event is open to the public.
Junior Rifle Team: Looking for anyone interested in leading junior shooting classes. Contact Mike Ripley if interested.
Archery:
Fun Indoor Shoot: Barry turned in $105. The fun shoots happen on Mondays. Doors open at 9 am with the first shoot starting around 10 am.
Rifle: Al took in $72, expenses $0, and turned in $72. Al will host a steel egg shoot at the 100-yard rifle range for .22 caliber rifles on March 24th, April 28th, and May 26th. Shooting will begin around 10 am. Al is hosting a bench paper match shoot to be held on April 10th and May 8th from 1 pm to dusk.
Membership: Brian took in $310, maintenance fund $35, general fund $275. Key cards were $20. The total membership is 587 which consists of 451 senior/life charter members. There are 33 new members for the 2024 year.
Old Business: Steve found a buyer for the lead that will be cleaned out of the indoor backstop. Steve announced the water system will have a check-up on March 13th.
New Business: There was a bid of $450 to refinish the kitchen floor. There is an older model RC cola chest cooler in the kitchen that will be removed from the kitchen. Good of the Association: Bob Rothharr said there was an important vote upcoming in the NRA. He suggested that if you are a voting member of the NRA take time to vote.
