Meeting Minutes February 12, 2024
7:00 pm – The board of directors met prior to the general membership meeting. These are the items that were discussed:
· Matt Siegfried addressed some questions about his 3-gun proposal.
7:34 pm – Meeting was called to order.
Introduction of Officers: Mike Cumberland- President, Chris Smith- Treasurer, Brian Jesteadt- Membership, James Hacke- Secretary, Joe Urish- Pistol, Mike Ripley- Black Powder, Tom Horstman- Trap(absent), Tom Fischer- Appointed by the membership.
Treasurer’s Report: Chris read the report.
Bills and Communications: Chris paid $895 for the main hall floor refinishing.
Pop: Steve turned in $16.
Rental Committee Report: On Feb 17th there is a pistol class from 5-7 pm. Feb 18th main hall is rented, Feb 24th the hall is scheduled to be cleaned, March 2nd hall is rented.
Pistol Team: Joe reported for 4 matches and took in $320, expenses $218, kept $31, and turned in $71. The pistol team is currently shooting on Thursday nights. Joe reported that the Butler High School rifle team won the season with a 14-0 record. Congratulations to the students and 2 coaches that are members of our club.
Trap Team: Jim reported that the winter league has come to an end and will have a report to turn in next meeting. There will be a banquet shoot at the trap range on March 16th. Practices will resume on Tuesdays sometime in the spring.
Black Powder / Meat Shoots: Mike took in $200, expenses $100, kept $30, and turned in $70. This year’s Frolic will be on March 23.
Junior Rifle Team: Mike Ripley said there are about 2-6 shooters showing up regularly. Mike said the junior shoots will be completed by the end of February. They shoot every Tuesday from 6:30-8:00 pm.
Archery:
Fun Indoor Shoot: Barry turned in $75. The fun shoots happen on Mondays. Doors open at 9 am with the first shoot starting around 10 am.
Rifle: Al took in $64, expenses $6, and turned in $58. Al will host a steel egg shoot at the 100-yard rifle range for .22 caliber rifles on February 25th and again on March 24th. Shooting will begin around 10 am. Al is considering a bench paper match shoot to be held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month.
Membership: Brian and took in $6,640, maintenance fund $750, general fund $5,890. Key cards were $400. The total membership is ? of which consists of 494 senior/life charter members. There are 73 new members for the 2024 year.
Old Business: Brian is in the process of locating a new program for the current card reading system. He said the process of finding a dealer to support our current Infinias card system could end up in a new card controller. The main hall had the floors stripped and refinished by members of the pistol team. The floors look great due to their efforts. Thank you to those who volunteered their time for such a daunting task.
New Business: Steve said he will be restocking hall supplies. He also said the water system will be having a check-up soon. The annual lead clean-out of the indoor backstop is coming up quickly. If anyone is interested in the reclaimed lead, please contact Steve Gustkey or Joe Urish. Al is considering an air rifle steel egg shoot. He considered a low light event and asked if the outdoor pistol range lights could be updated. It was brought up that the men’s room urinal valve is sticking.
