Meeting Minutes September 11, 2023
7:00 pm – The board of directors met prior to the general membership meeting. These are the items that were discussed:
· Steve mentioned that the sediment filter should be relocated to a new location to make it easier to clean out.
7:34 pm – Meeting was called to order.
Introduction of Officers: Mike Cumberland- President, Chris Smith- Treasurer(absent), Brian Jesteadt- Membership, James Hacke- Secretary, Roger Carfangia- Pistol(absent), Mike Ripley- Black Powder(absent), Tom Horstman- Trap(absent), Tom Fischer- Appointed by the membership.
Treasurer’s Report: Steve filled in for Chris and read the report.
Bills and Communications: Fall property taxes were paid in the amount of $2,365.89.
Pop: Steve turned in $8.
Rental Committee Report: SRU October 26th from 3 pm till 9 pm. Peggy turned in $200.
Pistol Team: No report.
Trap Team: Tuesday practice nights will soon be ending and the winter league will be starting. Trap shooting practice nights are every other Tuesday from 5 pm till dark. Shooting one round of 25 targets costs $4. Practice starts around 5 pm and continues till dark or until everyone is done shooting.
Black Powder / Meat Shoots: No report.
Junior Rifle Team: Mike Ripley is no longer running the Junior Rifle team. Anyone that is interested in taking over please contact Mike or a board of directors.
Archery:
Fun Indoor Shoot: The fun shoots are over for the season and will resume in September. The fun shoots happen on Mondays. Doors open at 9 am with the first shoot starting around 10 am.
Rifle: Al took in $61, expenses were $5, and turned in $56. The next match will be held on September 24th.
The first rifle match has started and will continue to be held on the last Sunday of each month. Entry into the first event is $5 and will be $4 to re-enter into additional matches. There are 4 different classes to shoot in depending on the type of .22 rifle and optics. Registration time is around 9 am.
Membership: Brian took in $185, maintenance fund $20, general fund $165. Key cards were $0. The total membership is 628 of which consist of 471 senior/life charter members. There are 45 new members for the 2023 year.
Old Business: Nothing new.
New Business: The electronic card system for the rear door had failed. Brian and Jim are going to investigate a repair. Should your card key fail to gain you access to the building please contact Brian Jesteadt. Al proposed new rifle shooting dates to be held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays in the year 2024. It was brought to everyone’s attention that there are bees living in the 100-yard backstop at the rifle range.
