Meeting Minutes June 12, 2023
7:00 pm – The board of directors met prior to the general membership meeting. These are the items that were discussed:
· Steve brought in another bid for hall improvements submitted by Dan’s Construction LLC.
7:31 pm – Meeting was called to order.
Introduction of Officers: Mike Cumberland- President, Chris Smith- Treasurer, Brian Jesteadt- Membership, James Hacke- Secretary, Roger Carfangia- Pistol, Mike Ripley- Black Powder(absent), Tom Horstman- Trap(absent).
Treasurer’s Report: Chris read the report.
Bills and Communications: Chris renewed one of the CDs for 3.5% for 19 months. The 2nd CD will also be renewed in the future when it expires. Chris reported that there was still a $17.55 credit on the electric bill.
Pop: Steve turned in $19.
Rental Committee Report: June 12th & 13th SRU rental, hall is rented for July 15th.
Pistol Team: Rodger said that the outdoor shooting started during the last week of May. He brought in $227, expenses were $0, kept $68, and turned in $159. The pistol team gathers on Thursdays at 5 pm to shoot 22 cal. & Centerfire 32, 38, & 45 cal. Rodger said it cost $2 per night or you can pay $20 for the 12-week season. All are welcome to come practice.
Trap Team: Trap shooting starts June 6th and will continue every other Tuesday from 5 pm till dark. Shooting one round of 25 birds costs $4. Practice starts around 5 pm and continues till dark or until everyone is done shooting.
Black Powder: Nothing to report.
Meat Shoot: Nothing to report. They start at 11 am and are open to members and the public.
Junior Rifle Team: Mike Ripley is no longer running the Junior Rifle team. Anyone that is interested in taking over please contact Mike or a board of directors.
Archery:
Fun Indoor Shoot: The fun shoots are over for the season and will resume in September. The fun shoots happen on Mondays. Doors open at 9 am with the first shoot starting around 10 am.
Rifle: Al said the next match will be held on June 25th, July 30th, and Aug. 27th located at the outdoor rifle range.
The first rifle match has started and will continue to be held on the last Sunday of each month. Entry into the first event is $5 and will be $4 to re-enter into additional matches. There are 4 different classes to shoot in depending on the type of .22 rifle and optics. Registration time is around 9 am.
Membership: Brian and took in $325, $30 to the maintenance fund, and $295 to the general fund, $0 in key cards. New members for 2023 are up to a total of 35. 616 total members, of which 464 are senior life/charter members.
Old Business: Steve reported that the target holders for the outdoor pistol range are repaired and back in good condition. The reinspection for the fire extinguishers still needs to be done.
New Business: Steve reported that there is sand found in the water system and that he will continue to monitor it. It was brought up that the ground getting into the rifle building could use some work to make it easier to get in and out of.
