Meeting Minutes for September 10, 2018
7:00 pm – Board of Directors met prior to the general membership meeting. These are the list of issues that were discussed:
- Discussed that it is time to fill the oil tank before winter.
7:31 pm – Meeting was called to order – Pledge of Allegiance & Conservation pledge
Introduction of Officers: Mike Cumberland- President, John Hiser- treasurer, Brian Jesteadt- Membership, James Hacke- Recording Secretary, Tom Horstman- Trap, Stephen Gustkey- Pistol, Mike Ripley- Black Powder/Junior Rifle.
Treasurer’s Report: John read the report.
Bills and Communications: A thank you letter was sent to Mr. Wilson for his generous donation of $1,000.
Pop: Steve turned in $8.
Rental Committee Report: Iron Mountain Sept. 11, 18, SRU Sept. 17(AM), Sept 25 & 26 (Hunter Safety Class). Peggy turned in $700.
Pistol Team: Steve announced a nice turnout of about 38 shooters for the pistol match. Steve turned in $80 that was donated towards the new pistol stands. The pistol team shoots on Thursdays, indoor starting on Sept 27, from 5 PM till dark. 22 cal. & Centerfire 32, 38, & 45 cal. All welcome to come practice.
Trap Team: Tom announced that the winter trap league will start on Nov. 4. Winter trap league will be from noon-5pm on Sundays. Anyone is welcome to join. Practice is on Tuesdays 5pm – dark, $3.50 per 25 targets. Open to the general public, club members, and new shooters.
Black Powder: Mike said there was a nice turnout at the rendezvous. Mike will be turning in $672 from the rendezvous. Mike also announced that Mr. Wilson took the steps to get the Sample’s Border Rangers induced into the National Muzzle Loader Rifle Association. 2nd Sunday of each month 11:00 am are the meat shoots (Black powder, closest to bullseye).
Junior Rifle Team: Due to low turn out Mike announced junior rifle is on hold for now. May resume in fall if there is a demand for it. Contact Mike Ripley with any questions or interest.
Archery: Still looking for any members willing to join together to make a team to practice.
Fun Indoor Shoot: Dickie said the indoor fun shoot will be starting on October 1st. They normally shoot every Monday 10am-till shooting is done, doors open at 9 am. Everyone is welcome. Iron/Peep sights with .22 caliber rifles from a rested position. Closest to bullseye wins a prize.
Membership: Brian read new memberships and turned in $330 of which $35 goes to the maintenance fund and $275 to the general fund. $20 was turned in for key cards. He reported 91 new members for 2018 which brings a total of 447 Sr, Life and Charter members. Total membership is 628.
Old Business: None.
New Business: Steve will be working on a fall newsletter.
Good of the Association: Remember to police your brass and keep all shots within target holders.
